What better way to brighten up a long day at work than a gorgeous delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables. Sometimes it amazes me how much I must live in my own little bubble completely oblivious to these wonderful companies and businesses that are based in Bristol. Today’s blog post is all about Good Sixty based in Bristol.
Good Sixty are a fabulous new company (founded 2016) that offer a collection or delivery service of food, drinks, gifts and much more for in and around Bristol. It is an online website which is a unique market lace showcasing the best of the best in the region.
Good Sixty aim to enable independent food retailers around Bristol to thrive online, by selling their produce on a fabulous marketplace.
After umming and arring over what to choose, I picked fresh fruit and vegetables from Bare Foods based in Bristol City Centre. When I say in the City Centre I mean bang on, in the middle of the roundabout. As I drive I would normally find it quite hard to get anywhere near – needing to spend a good £5 on parking just to visit the Bare Food stand.
Thankfully Good Sixty is there to help the smaller stalls thrive online, meaning I had a gorgeous delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables delivered to my workplace to take home with me that Thursday evening.
So, how long did it take me to pick my local produce and place the order? 5 MINUTES! In 5 minutes I had registered, picked a healthy selection of organic foods from a local produce (Bare Foods) in Bristol, placed my order and received confirmation.
The website was very easy to use and navigate, nothing pleases my eyes more than heavy imagery to convey the produce. In fact, I even slipped up in my order (ordering late on a Sunday evening isn’t the best of ideas) and the wonderful managing director had emailed me within half an hour of ordering to check something. Now if that isn’t great customer service I don’t know what is.
Good Sixty offers a large range to choose from, including: cakes, sweets, florist, gifts, fishmongers, butchers, farm shops, greengrocers, micro distilleries, pies, pattiseries, frozen foods, vegan, wholefoods, wine, beer and spirits! There is such a range to choose from, it’s not just a food website as it includes Mother’s day and Father’s day gifts near the occasion too.
I liked how you could simply pick ‘health foods’ and it brought up a variety of health food shops on Good Sixty. The website tells you the next time it can deliver to you, when you can collect and also importantly how far away the produce is located.
I even had some leftover bananas from the week as the food lasted such a long time, what else can you do with bananas on the turn other than make warm banana bread on a late Sunday evening?
The benefits of Good Sixty include the ease of choosing which retailer to order from, choosing between delivery and collection (and picking the specific hour too). Suppliers who only have a market stall without a website get to display their produce on the website. So kudos to Good Sixty.
Can we just talk about how huge this root ginger is? I think every meal had ginger in for about three weeks. No regrets at all.
I loved everything in the Good Sixty order from Bare Foods. The fruit and vegetables lasted much longer than the average Tesco or Sainsbury’s order. If you live in or around Bristol take a look at their website and see what is available to you, it’s a very handy website in which I will be ordering from again very soon!
