This might be one of those odd blog posts you read and just think what? But then again I’ve turned a new leaf, I want to write for myself more. Less of the reviews, less on forced content and stress free blogging. I really like trying out new things, especially with all that blogging has to offer. Recently I was stuck in a rut, having many blog posts that needed to be written, orders that needed to be wrapped, client work that needed to be finished. Stressed was an understatement and my health deteriorated.
Go forward a few months and I’m up-to-date on most things. Nearly finished client work, caught up on blog posts and I’ve got a new lovely #BoxOfLame getting ready to be sent out next week. It’s amazing how much happier I am now I’ve ditched the stress.
Along with ditching the stress I feel more motivated. I am thinking more into the future rather than into the next few days. Planning where I really want to be in the next few years, more of a life plan and focusing more on that. Otherwise I’m just sleeping, working, sleeping and it doesn’t really feel much of a life.
I have a 2 year plan and a 5 year plan. Where I want to be by the next year and where I want to be in 5 years time. It’s nice to actually have something to work towards. Everyday I wake up thinking ‘so what am I going to do today that’s going to help me hit that 2 year plan goal’. It doesn’t matter if I go a couple of days without doing anything that helps me get to the end year goal. It’s just nice to work for something.
I know I want to be self employed, or perhaps working part-time alongside my online shop and freelance work. I’m not silly enough to aim for that by the end of the year, but that’s my two year plan. Along with moving out, flying the nest and conquering Bristol so I can make more Bristolian blogger friends. That’s my 2 year plan and I am going to work so hard for it.
If you’re lacking motivation then set a 2 year and a 5 year goal. It’s much easier to wake up in the morning and have something to aim for, something to strive for and to daydream about.
So if you’re reading this, get that pen and paper out. Write down some things to strive for before 2019. Pick some things to aim for by 2022. How are you going to get there? What steps do you need to get there? Start kicking life’s butt. It feels pretty good too.
