I think food collaborations are one of my favourite blogging perks and this post is about Gousto. I can’t imagine much else beating coming home from a long day of work to a heavenly food parcel awaiting your return. In fact the day I move out I am signing up to all of the food delivery services that come with recipes. Coming home from work to finding the exact ingredients ready and the recipe too is pure bliss. It really does make life easier rather than running round Sainsbury’s trying to think of what to eat and either not buying enough food or finding all your fruit and vegetables have gone mouldy within a few days.
So this is where Gousto comes into the picture. I have tried a few food-type subscription services including Riverford Organic and Good Sixty. I love them all. The concept of healthy speedy and high quality food delivered to your door saving you many hours each week is fab. In each box there are recipe cards including the ingredients needed for each meal. I chose 3 meals for 2, but bulked them up for the 3 in my house. As you can see on the card in the photograph below, all the ingredients are shown at the bottom of the card so you can see what are needed. For the visualisers like myself, I’d much prefer to see the real thing rather than text, especially after a 14 hour day staring at a screen… The recipe is then on the back and is very easy to follow.. even for those who can’t cook like myself.

The benefits to using food and recipe delivery services similar to Gousto is that you don’t have to spend your weekend searching for recipes for the week ahead and you have different meals to cook each week. I can easily admit that 3/7 meals a week at home are the same and do get a tad repetitive. That’s just because it’s easier than searching for new recipes all the time or purchasing new cook books. Coming home from work to having the ingredients perfectly ready with a recipe in hand, it’s easy to figure out why these types of food delivery services are doing so well, they save so much time! Here are just a selection of a few that are available to order this week, as they change every week.

When you go to the Gousto website, you type in your post code, pick whether you want to have recipes for 2 or 4, then how many recipe meals you want and then it’s easy to select the meals you want to eat. Actually, I take that statement back, it’s pretty hard to choose which recipes you want to make because they are all gorgeous. I picked the recipe for 2 and then just added extra vegetables to bulk it out for the three of us. It was very easy to do, in fact for one meal we added another portion of rice and that was it.
The three recipes I cooked was Hoisin Meatballs and Chinese Sesame Rice, Chicken, Red Pepper and Lemongrass, Spiced Pork Tenderloin and Peanut Sauce. When the recipes said ’30 minutes’ they actually meant the 30 minutes. Sometimes I find it might say ’30 minutes’ and really it’s 2 hours later, I’m starving and just about ready to give up haha.
I love how easy it was to order on Gousto and the food was delicious and easy to prepare too. If you fancy trying out Gousto you can get £25 off your first order with my code CHLOE241618 or just click the link.
